2018年9月15日〜10月12日に、バンコクのNumthong Galleryにて、Witaya Put-pongによる個展、”The Tale”が開催されました。
白地に黒で描かれた、独自の手法によって制作された作品がならぶモノトーンの会場には、複数枚の組み合わせでひとつの表現となったものや、遊び心のあるアイデアが盛り込まれた作品などが多数展示されました。
感覚や思考は、特に時間の移り変わる瞬間において刻印されます。しかし、それらは混沌に留まっているため、どのようなものであるか伝えることが困難になっている状態といえるでしょう。想起したのか、または、何かが再び呼び戻されたのか…。これらすべては、思考を試みる行為へのプロセスです。
したがって、様々なストーリー、または魅力あふれる事象、多方向な欲求についての問いなどは、思考と行動の相互間においてアンバランスです。
しかし、Witaya Put-pongは、日々感じたその瞬間を伝えます。彼の内面において具現化されるものを。彼の心を通してアクセスする特定の知識を。それは彼の精神的イメージのコピーといえるものです。

Witaya Put-pongは、2016年の展覧会 ‘Diary Me’から、今回の個展にいたるまで、エンボスのモノプリントやインスタレーションを発表しています。
彼は沸き起こる感情や思考から、線を描いてかたちを作ります。それは、彼の日常の中に現れる生き物や静物を取り上げて構成されます。
ペンによって幾重にも描かれたインクの線は、白からグレー、そして黒くなるまで程時間をかけて重ねられ、思考の移り変わりが印象的に表現されています。このため、作品は立体性があり、奥深いグラデーションを持っています。

指紋による刻印が押された作品は、
内的世界の風景であるような不思議な効果を生んでいます。

古文書を思わせる日記形式の作品。
Diary Me (2016-2018)
ユニークなものではQRコードを利用したもので、壁にあるQRコードを、読み込みのできるアプリケーションで取り込むと、新たな作品が端末で鑑賞することができます。

思考を線の重なりで表現する作品が集まった個性的な同個展は、哲学的なメカニズムを感じさせるモノトーンの空間でした。
