新進作家Kiatanan Iamchanは、Silpakorn大学の彫刻とグラフィックアートの絵画学部を卒業し学士号と修士号を取得後、タイ国内外で幅広く展覧会を開催しています。2005年にはプレーム・ティンスーラーノン元首相の主催する財団から奨学金を受けました。第8回パナソニック現代美術展優勝、クルンタイ銀行のSecound Special賞など多くの受賞歴があり、さらに2009年には第55回全国美術展から金メダルを受賞しています。彼の作品の細部にいたる緻密な装飾や背景の中心には、漫画のキャラクターを思わせるデフォルメされた人物が描かれています。

カンヴァスに描かれたアクリルの絵画。Kiatanan Iamchanはタイのコンテンポラリーアートを通じて、ポジティブとネガティブの両方について生きてゆくという概念と感情を表現しており、精神的思考のための仏教のビジョンとして導く役割も果たしています。

彼の作品はタイの仏教壁画からインスパイアされており、彼の空想的な思考と想像力によって、半現実的で迷信的な物語が混合された半漫画のようなキャラクターを描くことで主観的な信念を表現します。作品は人々がどのように衣類を身に着け、どのような住環境で暮らしたかなどを表した壁画アートから触発され、そのいくつかの物語がミックスされたユニークなアイデンティティを持っています。まるで過去の、現在の、そして未来の時間が混在しているかのようです。彼のアート作品はそれ自体が長い歴史と物語を持っているようでありながら、新鮮な感情に満ち溢れています。
