環境破壊など次世代につながる問題をシュールリアリスティックに描く Teeratat Namkeaw

1991 -

Teeratat Namkeaw は、Silpakorn University, Faculty of Painting, Sculpture and Graphic Artsを卒業後、"Medini Thanvanichkul"のスカラシップや、“From the heart to the royal father 86 years old”１位などの経歴を持つ若手タイ人作家です。バンコクを中心に展覧会を開催している彼の作品は、確かな技術と構図によって描かれたシュールリアリスティックな表現方法で、環境破壊や汚染などの問題を抱えた現代の人間社会について警鐘を鳴らします。

作品コンセプト

人間は「創造者」であり「破壊者」です。私達は私達の住んでいる惑星、自然、生き物、生態系において最も重要なことを忘れる程、「より良い存在」に進化することを目指しています。私達が世界にしたことが「より良い存在」としての価値があるのか？彼の作品は、私達が次の世代へ引き継いでいくため良い世界を創造する力、あるいは私達が世界を台無しにする完全なる破壊的な力を体現しています。

超現実的な絵が語る危機感

Teeratat Namkeaw は、人間がもたらす環境や、個人の様々な喪失を表すモチーフを超現実的なシーンで描いています。覆いかぶさった灰色の雲のような世界の中に、花や動物、そして観察者のような人物や、審判を受けた人間たちの姿があります。荒廃した背景と生と死が対象的に描かれており、未来への不安と破壊がもたらす結末について見せられているかのようです。時として顔を持たない観察者のような人物は人間なのか、またはかつて人間であった何かなのか、謎に包まれており、また花や動物は生命の希望でもあり、犠牲者のようにも感じられます。各作品で描かれている終末的な風景は、破滅への道と生命力の背中合わせのような構図といえるかもしれません。
