The Conceptual Art Studio, Design by Reborn held 'Robots and Flying Machines' at Vin Gallery in Ho Chi Minh from 1st March to 19th April 2019. Robots with designs that were both artistic and nostalgic were installed in various sizes, making it an exhibition that was enjoyed by both adults and children.
The collection of delicately formed pieces that were installed in the venue connected the not-so-distant future with the distant past. This concept is based on the common old Vietnamese motif of the early 19th century, which gives a place (for rebirth) to our future. Works were reborn as unique flying machines, borrowing their colors, styles, and patterns from wooden windows and unique metal grills, and as a result, complex, futuristic, magnetic and rustic pieces fascinated the audience all at once. Each body of sculpture was finished with a high gloss using traditional Vietnamese lacquering techniques in cooperation with local artists.
These robots captured a child-like vision of the future, along with an artistic past. In addition to the three-dimensional objects, art books, screen prints, and installations were also on display at the venue.
The robot materials used in the work included discarded wood and other materials. A place where every piece of timber has been given the chance of having a second life- 'Reborn' has transformed the architectural parts that once had a practical use, into pieces of art.

The robots, which consisted of delicately designed formations, were artistic and nostalgic, and the venue was a space like a time machine that connected the future with the past.
A project created by Ki Saigon as well as a design house based in Vietnam.
The project began by collecting windows, doors, chairs, and other items that had been dumped in actual building sites, waste storage sites, and street corners. The discarded material is revived (reborn) as a work. 'Design by Reborn' also accepts custom-made products by bringing new ideas.
