Tay Bon Mar is a classics dhamma song composed by Kyeik Latt U Pyone Cho (1878-1927). The term “tay bon mar”, means three main realms: Kāmaloka - a world of desire, Rūpaloka - a world of form and Arūpaloka - a world of formlessness. To dig further, Kāmaloka has- hell, animal, the hungry ghost (preta), and Asura, one human relam and six deva realms, which made a total of eleven domains. Accordingly, Rūpaloka consists of sixteen realms, whereas Arūpaloka has four, thirty-one realms combined. To summarize, the three main realms can be noted as “Ti Bon Ma” (Ti-three, Bon Ma- realms), which becomes Tay Bon Mar as a song title. The song is made to empahsize on the idea of life, which contains life and death, cause and effect.

Myanmart presents the exhibition “Tay Bon Mar” which includes three friends - Ba G, Lwin Oo Maung and Thadi Htar. In this exhibition, the audience will be able to witness the visions and perspectives of this universe, the fresh mindset of 2020 due to COVID-19, and the artists combined their work with the concept of Tay Bon Mar. During the homestay COVID time, we began to explore ourselves in more detail. Due to the lack of social interaction, we tend to see life’s uncertainties through different attitudes and mindsets of human beings. We began to focus more on living things close to our environment. From those continuous chains of thoughts, the concept of life will be evolved throughout the exhibition.
