「5th Passage: In Search of Lost Time」は、シンガポールの歴史において重要なアートイニシアチブのひとつである 5th Passage による展覧会です。1991年、5th Passage は、シンガポール東部の郊外型ショッピングセンター、パークウェイ・パレードにオープンしました。 Suzann Victor、Han Ling 及び Susie Lingham の3人が共同で設立したこの施設は、ビジュアルアート、パフォーミングアート、文芸、音楽、ファッション、デザインなど、さまざまな分野の芸術作品が集まる場所となっていました。さらに、5th Passage では、さまざまなトークイベントやフォーラム、子ども向けのアート・アウトリーチ・プログラムなども開催しました。また、5th Passage は、「Access to the Arts」を提供するという明確な意図を持って設立され、市民センターという「ready-made public」の中に位置し、結果的に社会的な記憶の中に埋め込まれました。1991年から1996年までの6年間に、5th Passage の後援のもと、多くの展覧会、イベント、プログラムが実施されました。
この展覧会では、5th Passage とその広範な活動を徹底的に歴史化することなく、その存在の記憶をもとに、シンガポールの芸術文化の大きな弧の中で、5th Passage の意義を確立するための基礎を再構築します。

John Tung は、インディペンデント・キュレーター、エキシビション・メーカーです。シンガポール美術館のアシスタント・キュレーターを務めた後、9つの展覧会のキュレーションと共同キュレーションを行い、また、シンガポール・ビエンナーレ2016 とシンガポール・ビエンナーレ2019 の共同キュレーターも務めました。最近では、第7回シンガポール国際写真フェスティバルのフェスティバル・キュレーター「Departing and Arriving」や、オープンハウス・プログラム「For the House; Against the House - Passion Made Impossible」のアソシエート・キュレーターなどを務めています。現在も数多くの独立したプロジェクトや出版物に携わっています。ロンドン大学ゴールドスミス校（LASALLE College of the Arts）でアートマネジメントの学士号（優等学位）を取得し、香港中文大学で文化マネジメントの修士号を取得しました。
