Beans Cosmos

Japan
Satoshi Hirose

Beans Cosmos, 2017, acrylic resin, gold, diamond, plastic, glass beads, sweet gum, nuts, map, Φ15.0 cm
All images courtesy of the artist.

A work in which beans, gold, a map crumpled up into a ball, beads, and plants etc. are sealed in an acrylic resin sphere. The sealed objects change infinitely depending on the angle from which they are viewed, as well as through effects of distortion. From the microcosmos to macrocosmos, and from the macrocosmos to microcosmos, it stimulates limitless imagination. This peculiar space that manifests through the work embodies the artist's thoughts that freely traverse back and forth between the two extremes.
