Focusing on mandarin oranges that are culled in order to produce those with a high sugar content, the oranges that have no choice but to be discarded are recycled into “Mandarin Orange Paper.” The intervention of such ideas serves to present producers with new values. In recent years, regeneration and circulation has also been introduced as one of the concepts of Hirose’s oeuvre in an attempt not to discard the foods and materials used for the production of the works.
