Tokyo University of the Arts promoted an online event "Tokyo Geidai ⇄ Asia 2021" in collaboration with the Mekong region In January 2021. Several programs on international art exchanges with art universities in the Mekong region were implemented, and it was an opportunity to explore exchanges and collaborations with various Asian regions through art under the circumstances of the epidemic of the COVID-19 infection.

About the Online Event: Tokyo Geidai⇄Asia 2021

Tokyo University of the Arts has promoted artistic and cultural exchange with the Asia region through the Inter-University Exchange Project (Re-Inventing Japan Project); Support for the Formation of Collaborative Programs with Universities in Asia since 2016. To commemorate the final year of this project, we have designated January 2021 as Tokyo Geidai Interactive Asia Month and will hold an international symposium focusing on international exchange with the Asia region, as well as international forums and discussion events for specific art genres. These international online events will build on the knowledge gained through the project and discuss and how the activities of art universities can contribute to society as a whole in each country.
