At the Bangkok Art Biennale, which was held from 19th October 2018 to 3rd February 2019, unique Thai venues were adopted. In addition to the exhibition of works at the art gallery, venues included temples which are famous as tourist destinations in Bangkok such as 'Wat Arun', 'Wat Pho', and 'Wat Prayurawongsawat'. You could enjoy the artworks which were set up in Thai temples, each with its own unique architectural style, as if it were a tour of a temple.

Bangkok Art Biennale is an art event organized by the Bangkok Art Biennale Foundation. Its mission is to inspire ASEAN and international audiences by raising awareness and actively nurturing contemporary art exhibitions.
In this Bangkok Art Biennale 2018, mainly in the BANGKOK ART AND CULTURE CENTRE, exhibition halls were set up in twenty locations around Bangkok, including galleries, temples, malls, and hotels, allowing visitors to appreciate a variety of works.

This temple is the setting for the 3rd volume of Yukio Mishima's novel, 'The Sea of Fertility vol 3 -Temple of Dawn'. It features a Bangkok-style Great Buddha pagoda, and is impressive for its beautiful appearance upon the banks of the Chao Phraya River.

Komkrit Tepthian's work is famous for its use of Lego. It is installed in the square and matches to blend in with the location of a temple.

'Across the Universe and Beyond', 'Mythical Escapism', 'From the World Inside/Across the Universe'
Inside the red, semi-transparent enclosure, Sanitas Pradittasnee's artistic works were installed, making use of the environment and light reflection.

The royal temple, famous for the giant golden reclining Buddha statue. You could enjoy it as an attraction that finds works scattered around the vast venue.
'Sediments of Migration'
An installation work using concrete, acrylic, iron, etc. by Thai up-and-coming artist, Pannapan Yodmanee. Experimental art works are being developed by boldly combining her knowledge of traditional Thai art with new materials and techniques.

'A Shadow of Giving'
Tawatchai Puntusawasdi installations. Copper pyrites, copper, zinc and plating are used. The works which have elements of being finished by hand combined with accurate mathematical measurement are constantly questioning the ego and a sense of the evanescence of life in Buddhist philosophy.

A temple was built during the reign of Rama III of the Chakri Dynasty, featuring a Sri Lanka-Ayutthaya-style white pagoda.
'Turtle Religion'
Krit Ngamsom creates contemporary artwork with the humor of the countryside and memories of childhood. His playful sculptures of turtles, symbols of longevity and tolerance were exhibited.

'Zodiac Houses'
An installation by Zodiac Houses, one of the pioneers of Thai contemporary art movement. In addition to metals and wood, herbs are also used as materials. The work represents astrological signatures for communicating with the dead, as well as bliss and incarnation through outer space.
